THOUGHTS:AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN WITH BLONDE HAIR
This topic brings about lots of discussion and difference of opinions, both good and bad. This is going to be from my opinion and my thoughts but feel free to leave your thoughts about it. I think that blonde hair on african american women looks gorgeous. With that being said, there are times that it just doesn’t look right. Most times it’s not even about the color. I’ve been reading lots of forums and blogs about this topic and they give examples of bad blonde hair on african american women. I noticed that the hair is just a bad weave! The weave is nappy or the cut and style just doesn’t flatter their face shape. I honestly do not think it’s because their hair is blonde. I hate the stereotype that african american women should not wear blonde hair. I couldn’t disagree more. Who made the rules of what each race can do? I feel that society has made us to believe certain things are for certain people. Society is always saying “BE YOURSELF!” but when we choose to express ourselves, we are looked down upon. Every other race can choose to dye their hair any color and it’s alright for them but if an african american women decides to do the same thing, she is judged.
I think that it is really sad that our society is this way. Everyone should be about to do what they want and how they want. If an african american woman wants to be blonde, let her. If a white woman wants dreds, let her! Who are we to say what’d good for them?! Most people are uneducated when it comes to topics like this. Melanesians are an ethnic group from Melanesia, an island around Australia, and what is amazing about these people is that they are the only dark skinned people in the entire world to naturally have blond hair!

I think blonde hair looks totally gorgeous on this child!
Basically what I am saying is, african american women should not be looked down upon for having blonde hair. It’s just hair for goodness sakes. With all the problems in the world right now, are you really worried about someone’s hair color?! Everyone should be allowed to express their individuality! I have received a lot of heat on this topic because I want to dye my hair blonde. The number one response I got was that I am too dark. -__- I really get upset when I hear that! Even though I get upset, I get over it pretty quickly! I don’t really listen to people’s opinions from the way I dress to the way I do my hair. I am an individual and I love standing out. People are constantly telling me that they admire me because I don’t care about what others think of me!
This is a comment a girl left under one of my instagram pictures:
[ “Ok I just followed you and was skimming through your pictures and reading your captions. I really like you. Your very pretty and can dress. You actually inspired me not to care about what others think about my sense of style. Thank you]
Seeing things like that really make my day. At the end of the day, you have to make yourself happy because that’s all that matters. No matter what you do in this world you are going to have people judge you. So why not have people judge you for something you love then something you are doing just to fit in? I’m going to go blonde simply because I like it and I want to do it. I could care less what others may sy about it, because really at the end of the day, IT’S JUST HAIR!!
